Alzheimer's Disease is a disorder that affects the cells of the brain and causes severe memory loss as it progresses. This disease affects approximately 5 million American adults. It is recognized as the most common cause of severe intellectual impairment in older individuals and is the sixth leading cause of death in the county.

The Alzheimer's Group of Carroll County, Inc. sponsors two support groups that welcome all interested persons. The group's daytime and evening meetings provide emotional and practical support for the primary caregivers, family members, and friends of Alzheimer's patients.
